Digital Humanities Call
DH Call 2025
As one of the largest memory institutions in Germany, the German National Library offers its data holdings and digital collections both for study and research purposes and for experimental and creative work. Our digital collection encompasses an ever-growing repository of various types of media, including for example 4.3 million e-paper editions of approximately 1,700 daily newspapers. The German Music Archive, the German Museum of Books and Writing and the German Exile Archive 1933-1945 also offer specialised collections.
We will gladly support you with your research project by providing metadata, digital objects and infrastructures. Our Twitter archive is also available for analysis as part of the DH Call. The provisions in section 60d UrhG apply. This allows work with copyright-protected objects exclusively on site and on our infrastructure.
If you have ideas for research projects to which we can contribute with our data, we look forward to receiving your application. Please send this by 30 April 2025 by email to DH-Call@dnb.de.
Your application should include the following information:
- Name, address, email, phone number, CV (max. 2 pages)
- A project outline providing the following information (max. 3 pages):

- information about the data corpus,
- the technical equipment required (hardware, software) and
- the expected duration of the project - DH Call application form (PDF Download)
The number of projects running at the same time is limited. We may therefore have to make a selection. We will inform you of the decision on your application by 13 June 2025.
