“Child Emigration from Frankfurt am Main. Stories of rescue, loss and remembrance”

The catalogue has been published to accompany the exhibition “Child emigration from Frankfurt” by the German Exile Archive 1933-1945 and the inauguration of the monument “The Orphan Carousel” by artist Yael Bartana near Frankfurt Central Station.

It contains in-depth information on child emigration and on the culture of remembrance surrounding the Kindertransporte (children’s transports). We are particularly pleased that the catalogue also includes the six comics drawn especially for the exhibition. These tell the life stories of Lee Edwards, Josef Einhorn, Renata Harris, Elisabeth Reinhuber-Adorno, Lili Schneider and Dr Ruth K. Westheimer. The comics were drawn by Hamed Eshrat, Illi Anna Heger, Sascha Hommer, Magdalena Kaszuba, Ilknur Kocer and Birgit Weyhe.
