Keyword

German: Stichwort

A word used to describe or search for media works which – unlike a subject heading – is not taken from a controlled vocabulary (e.g. a thesaurus) but directly from the work itself. Searches using keywords return results when the search terms entered are contained in the index selected, e.g. “title” or “table of contents”.
