Resource Cataloguing with Authority Data in Archives and Libraries (RNAB)

Resource Cataloguing with Authority Data in Archives and Libraries (Ressourcenerschließung mit Normdaten in Archiven und Bibliotheken - RNAB) is a cataloguing standard that is primarily used in literary archives. It provides rules for the description of holdings (personal, family and corporate archives and collections) and their contents both as a whole and in part.

The RNAB is also intended to be an easily understandable guide for people who are working on collections but have no training as librarians or archivists. It explains how to handle these collections and index them usefully and advantageously using authority data and controlled vocabulary. All current developments such as Resource Description and Access (RDA) and Records in Context (RiC) have been integrated into the RNAB standard.
