GND web form
Overview
The Integrated Authority File (GND) is the most extensive collection of authority data for cultural and research data in the German-speaking areas. The GND web form is specifically intended for users from cultural institutions such as smaller libraries, archives and museums who would like to create or modify small quantities of data records in the GND. Provided you have the necessary authorisation, you can use the GND web form to create new data records for persons and organizations and to supplement or amend existing ones.
Access requirements
You are required to complete a one-off registration process before using the GND web form.
Other access requirements include:
- the willingness to contribute to the GND cooperative as a GND partner
- an International Standard Identifier for Libraries and Related Organizations (ISIL) or
- a MARC Organization Code (MOC) for precise identification
First-level support – i.e. monitoring the quality of the data records entered and dealing with queries – is provided by agencies; you are required to register with these in advance. We will gladly help you make contact with agencies.
Technical requirements
The web form’s behaviour may vary depending on your web browser. Please contact us if you have any questions.
