PID Network Deutschland
Project description
The project “PID Network Germany – Network for the promotion persistent identifiers in science and culture”, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), aims to establish a national platform for sharing advice and expertise on persistent identifiers. The project promotes the use of persistent identifiers in science and culture. Its goal is to establish a network of existing and currently developing stakeholders which are interested in the persistent identification of persons, organisations, publications, resources and infrastructures in the field of digital communication in science and culture.
This will not only optimise the dissemination and interlinking of PID systems in Germany, but also facilitate their embedding into international infrastructures such as knowledge graphs. The project’s findings will flow into recommendations for a national PID roadmap for Germany. The project is therefore ideally suited for integration into efforts to promote persistent identifiers. The key stakeholders are national and international organisations and associations such as DFG, Coalition S, EOSC, NFDI and RDA. In addition, the project will take the community building, knowledge transfer and technical optimisation activities that were successfully established under the ORCID-DE-project to a whole new level.
