ORCID - Authority data in academia
- Launched: 2019
- Objective: ORCID® (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) is a standard with which academic authors can be uniquely identified and matched with their publications. The ORCID ID and the GND ID serve as permanent identifiers and are linked to facilitate a clear distinction between authors. An ORCID record can be used worldwide and helps improve the visibility of scholars and their publications.
- Role of the German National Library: The German National Library offers academics in the German-speaking countries a convenient way to add monographs and other publications in the Deutsche Nationalbibliografie to their publication lists and to link them with the GND.
- Partners: ORCID-Deutschland-Konsortium
