Kompetenznetzwerk Langzeitarchivierung – nestor
- Launched: July 2009
- Objective: nestor is the competence network for digital preservation in Germany. nestor provides a network that brings together affected institutions, competent experts and active project participants across different disciplines and fosters the exchange of information, the sharing of tasks, the development of standards and the use of synergy effects. The nestor partners maintain close ties with corresponding initiatives in other countries and actively participate in European and international initiatives and projects on digital preservation.
- Role of the German National Library: Member, home to the nestor administrative office. Dr Peter Leinen (Director of the Domain Information Infrastructure, German National Library) is a member of the nestor spokesperson group.
