Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek (DDB)
- Launched: Online since 2012
- Objective: Provide everyone with free online access to Germany’s cultural and academic heritage, i.e. to millions of books, archive materials, images, sculptures, musical works and other sound documents, films and music scores.
- Role of the German National Library: DDB project coordinator and operating the DDB service desk
- Additional partners: Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation (home of the DDB administrative office), FIZ Karlsruhe – Leibniz Institute for Information Infrastructure (technical operator) and eleven other prestigious German cultural institutions (competence network)
