The 7th workshop on computer-supported subject cataloguing will take place on 14/15 November 2023 as a virtual event.
Subject cataloguing is one of the most vital and challenging of the tasks performed by libraries and other cultural institutions. Its importance is constantly growing with the increasing amount of physical and digital media works to which users require quick and precise subject-specific access. The advances being made in digitisation are both a challenge and an opportunity. In this context, assisting tools such as the Digital Assistant DA-3 as well as machine-based cataloguing procedures to support verbal and classificatory cataloguing are becoming increasingly important.
The focus of the event is the automation of content indexing from the user's point of view. The workshop serves to exchange information and experience on developments and applications of current and future indexing tools for GND, DDC, STW and others.
The workshop’s programme will be published on our Wiki.
For data protection reasons, we will not record the event. By registering, you also agree not to make any image or sound recordings yourself.
