111 years of the German National Library: We are celebrating – you visited us
Guests of all ages, in many cases whole families, came to us to take a look behind the scenes of Germany's biggest library, our museum and our archives. In all, there were 90 guided tours that took them up and down the stairs and gave them glimpses of our stacks, reading rooms, collections and exhibitions. Musical entertainment and opportunities to take part in creative activities all persuaded them to stay for longer. We auctioned original graphics by well-known illustrators to benefit Ukrainian refugees. Interested visitors were offered insights into the various worlds of work at the German National Library and introduced to the exciting tasks involved in provenance research.
