The German National Library is unique among libraries. It is performing a meaningful mission – for society, for future generations, for everyone. This is what unites us at the German National Library and shapes our working environment. Incidentally, this is far more diverse and digital than many people assume.
Prospective library and IT professionals will find themselves immersed in exciting subject areas. As fully fledged members of the team, we give them challenging tasks to do, not just for practice, but to let them make valuable contributions. Our trainees often become involved in projects which allow them to pursue their own interests. Sometimes they get to do truly ground-breaking work.
Here they can rely on the support of experienced colleagues as well as the thorough training they receive from us.
All in an appreciative working climate with sound prospects. After all, we are not just the cultural memory of the nation but also a federal authority that offers all the advantages of working in public service, for example a secure job, flexible working hours and an attractive remuneration package consisting of a salary, a retirement pension and additional benefits.
