We modernise for the future!

The media issues area in the Frankfurt reading room will be renovated and updated starting from 18 October 2024, with the work set to continue until the end of March 2025. During this period, any media ordered will be made available in the multimedia reading room.

We will provide regular updates on the progress of the work and any restrictions.

Progress on site: dismantling the dust protection wall

As part of the ongoing modernisation of the reading room in Frankfurt am Main, the dust protection wall will be removed on 13 and 14 February 2025. This will allow further work to be carried out on the interface with the reading room: Carpeting, ceiling works, construction of a soundproof glass wall.

Unfortunately, this will result in noise pollution. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We know that quiet and concentration are very important to you as a user. We will make every effort to complete the necessary work as quickly as possible.

Reading and working in changing spaces

The issues desk has been temporarily relocated to the multimedia reading room, and you can go there to collect any media you have ordered. If you wish to use the library, you can register at the information desk in the main reading room.

The reading room will be open Mondays to Fridays from 09:00 to 22:00 and Saturdays from 10:00 to 18:00 as before; users will also be able to register at these times.

Information service staff will still be available in person or by phone Mondays to Fridays from 09:00 to 18:00 and Saturdays from 10:00 to 16:00 while the renovation work is taking place.
